Default Video conference for training institutes

Hi,

I work for a company that gives training courses for their students. In the moment we give training "on live" with a teacher. But we want to expand to another cities, so our idea his to do a video conference, on live, with the other office, usually each class has about 40 people. I don't understand very well the market in question so any information will be welcome. First, what is my best option for doing this? I read that the best brands are polycom, Tandberg and Lifesize are the best brands in the market, it is correct? What kind of equipment i need to buy? I think the idea of my boss is to install a camera in the office and a television in the other office, is this possible. If possible it's a good idea?

Thanks

You should try ViVu (vivu.tv) .. They have a good video conferencing solution and your don't need any special hardware .. Just your laptop, camera and a good bandwidth.

Default VC for training

Hi Paulo,

this is a great use for VC. We are currently working with a training company to provide exactly this solution.
The key question for you is how will the 'far end' students ( the ones in the other cities) be viewing the courses - will they be in dedicated 'classrooms' or individually participating from their PC / laptop?

If it is a classroom then you will get best quality from a dedicated video conferencing unit (codec) in the teachers room and the classroom. Any of the major manufacturers such as LifeSize, Polycom, Radvision & Vidyo have systems that will work for you. And most of them now talk to each other too!

However if they are logging on their PCs then we recommend the same set up in the teachers room but the participants will need a software application on their machine. The easiest to set up and integrate are the solutions from Radvision and Vidyo. They are both great for this.

Finally where are based?

Default R-HUB HD video conferencing

You may have a look at on premise R-HUB HD video conferencing servers for providing online trainings. It allows you to connect to 30 participants at a time.
